Kings Canyon Resort 
Kings Canyon Resort is located midway between Alice Springs and Uluru (Ayers Rock), 3 1/2 hours drive from Ayers Rock Resort and 3 1/2 hours from Alice Springs. This Red Centre destination is easily accessible by road and the actual resort itself is located just 7 kilometres from Kings Canyon which is part of the Watarrka National Park.
Kings Canyon is an unspoiled wilderness experience. The canyon is over 120 million years old and its sandstone walls tower 270 metres above you. Surrounding the canyon is a thriving oasis known to the locals as 'The Garden of Eden. You can explore the Watarrka National Park by making the rocky climb to the rim of Kings Canyon which takes approximately 3 hours. Alternatively you can explore the canyon floor which is an easier walk. There are many activities from the Kings Canyon accommodation including guide tours and self-guided walks.
Kings Canyon Resort offers all the amenities you need after a day of walking and exploring. With 128 rooms and cabins as well as a grassy campground, guests of the resort can also enjoy buffet dinners, a lively tavern and a swimming pool. The resort offers special dining experiences such as the Under a Desert Moon dinner. Kings Canyon Resort is an ideal destination and a must for your Northern Territory holiday.
Please note that Carmichael's Restaurant will be closed for operational reasons, effective immediately until further notice. Guests can choose their dining options from the famous Kings Canyon Resort Outback BBQ and Pizza Bar, and the Thirsty Dingo Bar which will be open daily from 6.30am until late. Desert Oaks Bistro will commence food service for guests, offering a further selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 01 June 2012.

Lodge Budget Room: Shared bathroom and camp kitchen facilities with the campsite. Bedding is 1 Double Bed OR 2 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults & Children.
Standard Room: The comfortable standard rooms are spacious and contain a separate ensuite with shower. Interconnecting rooms are available on request. Bedding is 2 Double Beds OR 1 Queen Bed. Maximum room capacity is 4 Adults & Children.
Deluxe Spa Room: Set in a prime location at the resort and nestled in amongst the scenery, the Spa rooms offer guests deluxe accommodation at Kings Canyon. An oversized spa bath with a glass window providing uninterrupted range views, and mini bars. Feature a private balcony offering a magnificent outlook onto a rocky escarpment that is lit at night. Bedding is 1 King Bed OR 2 Queen Beds. Maximum room capacity is 4 Adults & Children.
Dining
Carmichael's Restaurant: Offers a delicious buffet selection set in warm, inviting surrounds overlooking a lush desert garden. Open for breakfast & dinner, table d'hote and buffet. Shuttle transfers can be organised at the Reception Desk from Kings Canyon Holiday Park & Campground to the restaurant. Carmichael`s will be open for breakfast, lunch & dinner until 30 June 2012.
Under a Desert Moon: An exclusive dining experience offered by Kings Canyon Resort. Tables for two are set under a canopy of Southern Night sky, with the only light coming from the moon. This dining experience a four course set menu accompanied by some of Australia's finest wines. Under a Desert Moon is not available December to March and requires minimum of 6 persons to operate. This dinner is popular and advance bookings are recommended.
Outback BBQ and Grill: For a true Australian Outback experience offering a selection of contemporary Australian BBQ cuisine. Enjoy sumptuous a-la-carte BBQ-style fare, fresh vegetables and salads, and a wide selection of wines, spirits, ales and soft drinks. Open for dinner from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Revel in the friendly atmosphere, mixing with other guests under a solid roof with open sides - just as if you're on a traditional outback verandah. This casual bar and grill also provides live entertainment during peak season (June to November).
Desert Oaks Bistro: For lunch or a quick meal on the run, the Desert Oaks cafe offers a selection of light meals, beverages and snacks. Open daily from 10.00am - 3.00pm. Will be closed from 31Oct11 and is due to re-open late June 2012
Thirsty Dingo Bar: As the sun sets over the desert landscape, enjoy a drink from the bar before dinner or try the new bar snack menu. Open from 3.00pm daily until late. This is the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the wonders of Watarrka National Park.
