Internal redecoration and refurbishment of the rooms at Sails in the Desert will commence on the 3rd of October 2011 and will continue until the 25th of May 2012. There will be limited distruption to guests and operating hours will be between 7am-5pm with no loud noise prior to 9am.

Work will also commence on the 22 November 2011 to the conference and meeting areas. An alternative thoroughfare will be provided for guests to access the town square. This will continue until the 31st of July 2012.

Phase 3 of this development will commence on 30 January 2012 to Public areas including hotel entry foyer, Mulgara Art Gallery, Winkiku Restaurant, Kuniya Restaurant and Tali Bar and is expected to be completed by the completion in early September 2012. Noise pollution is expected due to the scope of the refurbishment, however there will be no loud noise prior to 9am. Alternative arrangements are in place for Food and Beverage requirements. Please ask your consultant for further details.

Voyages Sails in the Desert Hotel will also be undergoing renovations on their Spa Rooms from 17MAR12 until further notice. There will be minimal disruption to guests during this time.

Voyages Sails in the Desert is named after the soaring white sails that crown its roof. Sails in the Desert is Ayers Rock Resorts premier resort. This Ayers Rock accommodation features interior decor that is focused on the regions Aboriginal heritage and culture. The lobby area of Voyages Sails in the Desert features a gallery, and artworks are displayed throughout the public areas.

The hotel has many different facilities including the acclaimed Mulgara Gallery, Winkiku Restaurant and the Rockpool serving tapas style cuisine by the pool. The award winning premier restaurant, Kuniya is also located at Voyages Sails in the Desert.

Voyages Ayers Rock Resort is located in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in Australia's Northern Territory. There are a total of five hotels at the resort including Voyages Sails in the Desert, which provides the perfect base from which to explore the area. With over 65 tours and attractions within the resort and National Park, there is an endless array to things to do in the Red Centre. Guests can ride a camel across the desert, hop on a harley and tour the area, or embark on a base walk of Uluru. There is a variety of touring to set every budget and personality.

Pioneer BBQ and Bar: A popular dining option located at Voyages Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge. A do-it-yourself BBQ (meat must be purchased at the BBQ Bar) with traditional Aussie charm. Meet up with your fellow travellers and enjoy live entertainment nightly. Open daily for dinner.

Winkiku Restaurant: Situated at Voyages Sails in the Desert Hotel, Winkiku serves a buffet breakfast in a brasserie-style setting. For dinner (seasonal), enjoy a tantalising seafood buffet, delicious array of salads, hot dishes and a carvery. Children's menu available. Reservations essential.

Bunya Bar: Situated at Voyages Desert Garden Hotel, Bunya Bar offers an indoor alfresco cafe experience and a wide range of light meals. The bar is also great for an afternoon tea or ealry evening cocktail. Open daily. Children's menu available.

Bough House Restaurant: Located at Voyages Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge, the Bough House Restaurant offers a traditional Australian breakfast. For dinner, share in the spirit of Outback Australia and enjoy traditional flavours at this popular buffet featuring traditional Australian 'tucker' and local delicaies, including meats, special breads, pastries and desserts. Gecko's Takeaway: Conveniently located in the Resort Shopping Centre, Gecko's offers quality burgers and chips with fast and friendly service. Open seasonally.

Arnguli Grill: Located at the Voyages Desert Gardens Hotel, Arnguli Grill features a table d'hôte menu of two and three set menu options, in relaxed surrounds. Children's menu available.

Rockpool: Enjoy al fresco dining at Rockpool, by the pool at Voyages Sails in the Desert Hotel, featuring an international menu. Operation subject to seasonality.
