2 Day Kakadu & Arnhem Land

AAT Kings offers Short Break tours to the Kakadu National Park, an ideal way to explore the Northern Territory with freedom and flexibility. This 2 day overnight Kakadu tour visits the Kakadu National Park and takes you on a 4WD tour into the breathtaking Arnhem Land region. You will also join the Yellow Water Billabong Cruise in search of crocodiles and visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Darwin - Kakadu: Travel via the Marrakai Plains deep into Kakadu National Park. A wide selection of native wildlife has made this region their home. Take a guided walk to view ancient Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock. After lunch join the famous Yellow Water Billabong Cruise to observe saltwater crocodiles and the colourful range of bird life. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and view the informative displays. An optional 50 minute scenic flight over Kakadu is available (own expense).

Day 2 - Arnhem Land - Darwin: This morning travel by 4WD into Arnhem Land and the Mikinj Valley. We travel through spectacular scenery including sandstone outcrops, escarpments, forests and floodplains. Learn about traditional land ownership, bush skills and 'bush tucker'. View Aboriginal rock art in its natural state. Return to Darwin this afternoon with a greater understanding of the relationship between the Aboriginal people and their land.
