3 Day Kakadu & Arnhem Land

AAT Kings offers Short Breaks to the Kakadu National Park, an ideal way to explore the Northern Territory with freedom and flexibility. This 3 day Kakadu tour visits the Kakadu National Park and takes you on a 4WD tour into Arnhem Land. You will also join a Cruise on the East Alligator River in search of crocodiles.

Itinerary

Day 1 Darwin - Kakadu: Travel via Adelaide River and the Marrakai Plains deep into Kakadu National Park. Take a guided walk to view Aboriginal rock art at Nourlangie Rock. After lunch join the famous Yellow Water Billabong Cruise to observe saltwater crocodiles and prolific bird life. You will also visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

Day 2 Arnhem Land by 4WD: An early start this morning as you travel by 4WD vehicle into Arnhem Land and the Mikinj Valley. Travel through spectacular scenery including sandstone outcrops, escarpments, forests and floodplains. Learn about traditional land ownership, learn bush skills and 'bush tucker'. View Aboriginal rock art in its natural state - no fences or barriers. Most tours are accompanied by an Aboriginal Guide.

Day 3 Kakadu - Darwin: This morning stop at Ubirr with a short walk to view Aboriginal rock art. Join the Guluyambi Cruise along the East Alligator River in search of saltwater crocodiles. There is an Aboriginal guide with you and with the special permission of the local people, you will be able to go ashore in Arnhem Land. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre. Opportunity for an optional scenic flight (own expense) over the Arnhem Land Escarpment. Return journey to Darwin arriving at approximately 7.30pm.
