Connections Safaris operate this 2 Day Uluru & Kata Tjuta Camping Safari. Travelling from Alice Springs, visit an outback camel farm and see the amazing domes of the Olgas (Kata Tjuta) before arriving at Ayers Rock for your overnight camping experience.
This Ayers Rock tour gives you the opportunity to experience a spectacular sunrise and sunset at Ayers Rock (Uluru), with the evening sky bringing out the many shades of colour that Ayers Rock is famous for. You may have the chance to climb Uluru and join the Ayers Rock base tour and see Aboriginal art.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Alice Springs to Yulara: Departing Alice Springs and heading south, stop for a short visit at the Outback Camel Farm and then head straight to Yulara and the permanent campsite for lunch. The afternoon is spent exploring Uluru. Join your knowledgeable guide for a base tour of Uluru, exploring ancient caves where Aboriginal paintings can be seen, learning about the oldest culture in the world. At sunset, you will appreciate the spectacular colour changes of Uluru. Later, return to camp for a traditional Aussie meal.
Day 2 - Yulara to Alice Springs: It's an early rise for an exciting morning with breathtaking views of sunrise at Kata-Tjuta (The Olgas). Go for a walk to appreciate the beauty of the 36 magical domes and learn about unique fauna, flora and fire management of the national park. Return to the campsite for lunch and farewells. This afternoon, return to Alice Springs (arriving approx. 7pm) or if you wish, finish the tour at Ayers Rock Resort at 1pm.
