1 Day Katherine Gorge and Edith Falls

Depart from Darwin on this 1 Day Katherine Gorge and Edith Falls Tour and travel south through tropical country, passing former WWII airstrips. A short stop is made at Adelaide River War Cemetery, a site dedicated to those killed in the air raids in Darwin in the 1940s.
The next adventure on this Katherine Gorge tour is enjoying a 2.5 hour scenic Katherine Gorge Cruise in Nitmiluk National Park. Interesting and entertaining commentary is provided. On this Katherine Gorge Cruise tour there may be opportunities to see Crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks and many interesting species of birdlife.
A tasty picnic lunch is included at Katherine Gorge, before enjoying a brief tour of Katherine, the third largest town in the Northern Territory and the hub of the region's cattle and farming lands. Take in an afternoon break at picturesque Edith Falls (also in Nitmiluk National Park). There is time for a refreshing swim in the crystal pool beneath the falls. We return via Pine Creek, where we see old Chinese diggings and other historical buildings still standing as monuments to the early pioneers.
An evening stop is made at Adelaide River where dinner may be purchased at your own expense. You may like to sample the famous ‘Barra and Chips', before returning to Darwin.
